Ephemerality is the exploration of the fragility of the world around us. Even though what we see and feel around us does not last forever the impact they have on the world and its beings last eternally. This will be explored from the context of the past, present and future of Oman. The historical and geographical significance of natural resources and experiences will be artistically depicted in a truly multi-sensory experience.

eFloos

EFloos is a digital mobile wallet app that enables quick, secure and easy payments through your smartphone. Instead of using cash or a card, simply scan the QR Code available at different merchants across the Sultanate of Oman. This service is powered by the Sultanate of Oman’s leading telecommunications company (Omantel) and Arab Financial Services (AFS).

Concept – “A Cashless Utopia”

The concept was built on the idea of a world where all monetary transactions happened seamlessly without the use of cash.

The world we envisioned was a technological utopia where what we can buy or sell is only limited to our imagination. The world is almost fully automated to deliver convenience where we go.

Inspiration

We re-imagined our world where our day-to-day commutes, destinations and transactions have evolved a rapid pace. Inspired by Neo-Futuristic design we adapted a style that reflects the brand presence as well. 

Projection-Mapping on the Exterior Facade

To add to the attraction and create a larger impact for the launch – A projection mapping design was executed on the exterior facade of the venue. The design was inspired by the interesting shape of the building, and design elements derived from the app and logo.

The Monolith is a multimedia show inspired by the unique features and natural facets of Salalah. 

The concept

The 16m tall structure stands in the middle of the desert visible from the far distance. It represents a sacred object that everyone gathers around. The Monolith tells a story of the magnificence of the land around it.

The show

A 20-minute show that had 5 themes representing the 4 elements Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and the last segment was about Salalah.

The largest Projection Mapping in Oman (to date) took place at the Graduation Ceremony of the First Batch of the Military Technical College in Muscat. VAEG was commissioned by GT Stage Tech, an event company based in Oman, to collaborate and produce the Projection Mapping sequence for the event. A 09-minute show was produced and projected across a 540-foot-long canvas of the Technical College itself.

The key

Inspired by a geometrical floral pattern that gave MTC its identity, we developed this to be the storyteller of the show. The concept was based on looking at what lies inside the walls of the facility.

Looking inside

Not many have seen inside the facility, as it is a military base and only the students are allowed in. Since we were projecting on the faculty buildings itself, we decided to show what goes on inside the facility as if the fourth wall was taken out completely.

The Inspiration

We are currently entering an era termed the Second Machine Age*, with its increased focus on machines that do mental tasks. This involves the automation of many cognitive tasks that make humans and software-driven machines substitutes rather than complements. We call these machines intelligent.

Inspired by this incontrovertible reality we created “Intelligent Machines”

The Execution

The setup included an LED screen embedded within a three-dimensional set. Spanning 48m (157ft) in physical dimension, the total pixel count of the produced content was 10,384 x 1080. The project was realised with Dataton Watchout 6.
